Welcome,

My name is Kyle Eichas. I am a Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Tarleton State University in Waco, Texas, USA. I am an applied developmental scientist who combines community-engaged teaching with outreach research. I aim to create community-supported positive development programs that help young people expand their sense of what is possible in their lives.

I plan to use this site as a portfolio of ongoing and past research and teaching. It is a work in progress that I will update periodically. In the meantime, you can find a description of an outreach research project we are currently pursuing in Waco by following this link: Waco Youth Development Project. You can find a description of a parallel project of community engaged teaching by following this link: Youth Development Training Program. You can also find information about an international research team to which I belong that is creating knowledge about how to support the positive development of children and adolescents: Applied Developmental Science Research Group.

One outgrowth of my interest in promoting positive youth development is a research focus on identity formation among adolescents and young adults. Most recently, I have contributed to the second edition of Identity Formation, Youth, and Development: A Simplified Approach, a preview of which can be found here:  Identity Formation, Youth, and Development.

In addition, you can find my curriculum vitae to the left and my address on the contact page.

Thank you for visiting.
